I was the project designer and completed all documentation necessary for a permit from the Town of Amherst. I worked closely with the client to refine the design to match the way that they will use the house.

DESCRIPTION

This project includes two additions to an existing two-story home in Snyder, New York, each designed to serve a different need for the family while maintaining a cohesive overall design.

The first is a single-story addition of approximately 1,700 square feet that expands the home's living space with a great room, office, two bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. It includes both an exterior entrance and an interior connection to the existing house.

The second addition, on the opposite side of the home, is a 2,200-square-foot field house with 25-foot ceilings and a partially sunken floor. Designed as an open recreational space, it accommodates both a pickleball court and a half basketball court.

The additions are tied together through a consistent material palette, using brick at the base and Hardie board-and-batten siding above.
